Let's talk about having an accent today.

A lot of people are afraid of speaking English because of their accents.

I get it. I was in the same way.

But the truth is... it is nothing wrong with having an accent.

Actually having an accent can be a good thing. It will make you unique. Some people say your accent is cute. Some people will remember you because your accent stands out.

I now teach English pronunciation to people who speak English as a second language. But I am not a native English speaker. I am just like you, non-native English speaker who is working hard to get the American English sounds.

Born and raised in Japan, I moved to America when I was 23 years old.

And I didn't speak English at all that time. First, I worked on my English on my own, later took accent reductions lessons, and now teach English pronunciation from my own experience.

You still want to work on your pronunciation to make your speech clear so that people will understand you. And this is why I teach you English pronunciation.

But you don't have to speak perfect English. In my opinion, there is no perfect English anyways. There are many English speaking countries in the world, and they speak differently from each other. Even within an English speaking countries, there are many regional accents and dialects.

American English is pretty different from British English or Australian English. But they are all English.

What I am trying to say here is to encourage you to speak English with your accent in front of people. Don't let your accent hold back from achieving your goals in an English environment.

Keep watching my videos and I will help you with your English accent that you ever dreamed of acquiring!
